    To cover our losses preparing and processing your order, we require 30% RESTOCKING CHARGE for items you wish to return within 15 days from date of pick up or receipt. The buyer will pay the shipping fee when returning the item(s) back to us and all incidental expenses that we will incur. Items must be in RESALEABLE condition and not tampered with. We do not refund shipping or courier fees we've already paid on delivering the goods to you. We reserve the right to deny a refund if the item has been damaged, vandalized and/or tampered with. We only accept returns on items that are in their original state.

  • I have a stackable appliance. Which SmartCoinBox model will work with my machine?
    Stackable Washer and Dryer: Some stackables come with ONE plug. If this is the case you will only need the SmartCoinBox ECD137, HEAVY DUTY. Stackables that come with two power cords, washer and dryer, you will need ECW682 and ECD137 Smartcoinbox.
  • Coin-Operated vs Pay-By-Phone model. What's the difference?
    Coin-Operated The coin-operated Smartcoinbox model accepts both USA quarters and MQTEK supplied tokens, and will run for a preset time per coin. ONE TYPE OF COIN ACCEPTED AT A TIME: Either a quarter or our supplied tokens. There is a coin tray that collects payment on the inside of the Smartcoinbox, which will need to be emptied regularly. You can set the desired time per coin. There is a countdown display that accumulates every time a coin is inserted. Say $ 0.25 (USA) for 30 minutes or $ 0.25 (USA) per 45 minutes, for example. The appliance will stop running when the accumulated time on the Smartcoinbox display screen reaches zero, REGARDLESS of the machine's cycle status. In order to finish the machine's cycle, more coins need to be added to the Smartcoinbox. Please note that the machine may remain locked until the cycle is fully completed. You may adjust the timer settings as needed. Pay-By-Phone PayRange's BluKey device comes wired and installed with the Pay-By-Phone Smartcoinbox models. This model is then paired with their mobile app, creating a transaction service for the customer. Tenants are to maintain a prepaid balance on their smartphones and use it to make payments when using the washer or dryer. PayRange takes a percentage of every transaction. Payment is then released to the landlord once a week. IMPORTANT: PayRange service requires data connection on user's smart phone device. Prior to purchase and installation, verify location has adequate cellular reception or a wifi network signal that user's can access. The PayRange app communicates with the PayRange enabled machine via Bluetooth connection on the consumer's phone.
  • How does PayRange work?
    We have collaborated with PayRange to integrate their technology in our Smartcoinboxes. Payrange's BLUKEY comes wired and installed with purchase, all you have to do is register the device on their website (www.payrange.com) and you are good to go. Funds to you will be transferred at the end of each settlement term (once weekly). PayRange collects machine sales from Sunday to Sunday and deposit weekly payments into your bank account each Tuesday (banking holidays apply). There are no months hardware fees and no monthly contracts. BluKey devices collect 3.49% USA (4.25% Canada) per credit card transaction. PayRange accepts Credit/Debit card, Apple pay, Google pay, ACH from bank account, and EBT. IMPORTANT: PayRange service requires data connection on user's smartphone device. Prior to purchase and installation, verify location has adequate cellular reception or a wifi network signal that user's can access.   • Do I need an electrician to install my SmartCoinBox?
    No, you do not need an electrician to install your Smartcoinbox. The SmartCoinBox box is used to control the power flow to the washer/dryer through an electrical plug. This system is a plug-and-play system. SmartCoinBox is easy to install. The Smartcoinbox will mount on 4 screws, on the wall just above the appliance and the appliance would plug directly in the receptacle inside the Smartcoinbox. The Smartcoinbox may be locked with a padlock to secure the coin-tray on coin-operated models, to be unlocked by the landlord only. See below for mounting details: *We STRONGLY suggest to have the Smartcoinbox available for QUICK DISMOUNTING if service is needed* See Video for additional support: REMINDER: ECW682 and ECD137 are safety certified by INTERTEK-ETL using CSA Standard C22.2 No. 128 under file number 1009104. Do not use in any other application except for laundry machines and other loads not exceeding the approved capacity. Indoor use only. Do not modify or alter the wirings.
  • How much should I charge per cycle?
    SMARTCOINBOX device is designed to control the electrical power flow to the washer/dryer through an electrical plug-in. SMARTCOINBOX would mount on the wall just above the machine and the machine would plug directly into the device. SmartCoinBox is totally independent of the machine cycles. In order for the cycle to finish, the user will need to insert the appropriate amount of coins or pay the appropriate amount on the app to give the machine ample time to finish the cycle. If the Smartcoinbox timer reaches ZERO before the cycle is finished, the user must insert more coins or load more money onto the app to finish the cycle. Please note that some machines may remain locked until a cycle is completed. To overcome this problem we recommend making chart as shown below. Assuming $1 coin for 20 minutes: IMPORTANT: Some new High Efficiency appliances have a load-sensing feature. The appliance senses the size of the load and adds the correct amount of time for the load size. This feature on newer machines may cause cycle times to vary, based on the size/density of the load. While the time displayed on this appliance is an estimate, it is not a guarantee. The appliance may add time to the cycle if it feels it needs more time to complete the cycle. This may require customers to pay more money per cycle, as the cycle time depends on their load size.
  • What types of coins can I use with my SmartCoinBox?
    SmartCoinBoxes uses a single coin only. Options are the following: Loonie ($1 coin - Canada) Twoonie ($2 coin - Canada) Quarter ($0.25 coin - USA / Canada) Tokens ( SmartCoinBox Supplied)
  • What kind of support do you provide after a SmartCoinBox is purchased?
    ONE YEAR WARRANTY: The warranty for SmartCoinBox includes a ONE YEAR limited warranty on parts and a lifetime free in-shop labor warranty. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. If a problem arises, remote diagnosis will be conducted, and if parts need to be replaced, they will be provided free of charge, excluding shipping. Alternatively, the SmartCoinBox can be brought to the shop for immediate repair. Under provision of lifetime limited labor warranty, customer is responsible for shipping the SmartCoinBox to and from our facility. The limited warranty lasts for ONE YEAR and is not extended if a part is replaced. REPAIRS & SERVICE are ONLY available for units with normal wear and tear. WE CANNOT service units that have been damaged beyond repair and/or vandalized. WE CANNOT service units that have been altered from their original state. Limited Warranty DOES NOT COVER: Improper usage Unauthorized servicing External causes such as abuse, misuse, or problems with external wiring. LABOR WARRANTY: After the standard ONE YEAR Labor and Parts warranty, all SmartCoinBoxes are entitled to a LIFETIME FREE IN-SHOP LABOR WARRANTY! Lifetime labor warranty entitles the owner of the SmartCoinBox to a FREE repair service beyond the time span of the limited standard warranty, for diagnostics and replacement of parts. The cost of new replacement parts and shipping will be paid by the customer. If the need for repair was due to customer negligence, misuse, abuse not in accordance with product application or use of parts or components not supplied by us, SmartCoinBox staff reserves the right to charge service fees at industry standard labor rates.
  • What is your return policy?
    Return Policy This product is built to order. All SmartCoinbox orders are FINAL SALE. We will do our best to remedy any issues. In the event that you purchased the wrong item, we will gladly exchange it. All items for exchange must be returned in resalable, untampered condition. All shipping fees are buyer's expense and are non-refundable.   • What is included in the product warranty?
    Warranty Policy We offer LIFETIME LIMITED LABOUR and a ONE YEAR LIMITED PARTS WARRANTY. The limited parts warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship from the day you purchased your SmartCoinBox. If you need a replacement part within the first year, we will send you the part but you will be responsible for any shipping fees. Picking up the part at our Mississauga shop is free of charge. The warranty period is NOT extended after we replace a warranted part. After the one year limited parts warranty, you are responsible for paying the cost of any replacement parts. We will do our best to remotely diagnose the problem if you are unable to visit our shop in Mississauga. Under provision of lifetime limited labour warranty, the customer is responsible for paying any shipping fees to transport the SmartCoinBox to and from our facility. If you are able to bring it by, you are welcome to bring it to the shop for repair. Lifetime limited labor warranty entitles the owner of the SmartCoinBoxes to FREE repair labour. However, if the need for repair was due to customer negligence, misuse, abuse not in accordance with product application or use of parts or components not supplied by us, SmartCoinBox reserves the right to charge service fees at industry standard labour rates. SmartCoinBoxes are ELT-Intertek Safety Certified Labeled to CSA Standards. Designed and assembled in Canada.     Backordered items are those which our suppliers are unable to predict when they will have more in stock, but as soon as they do, we will be able to ship the item to you.
  • Installation
    REMINDER: ECW682 and ECD137 are SAFETY CERTIFIED by INTERTEK-ETL USING CSA STANDARD C22.2 NO. 128 UNDER FILE NUMBER 1009104. DO NOT USE IN ANY OTHER APPLICATION EXCEPT FOR LAUNDRY MACHINES AND OTHER LOADS NOT EXCEEDING THE APPROVED CAPACITY. INDOOR USE ONLY. DO NOT MODIFY OR ALTER THE WIRINGS. SmartCoinBox designed by a Landlord for Landlords is a DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) system. The SmartCoin box is used to control the power flow to the washer or dryer through an electrical plug in. The SmartCoinBox would mount on the wall just above the laundry machine and the laundry machine would plug directly in the receptacle inside the SmartCoinBox. We strongly suggest to have the smartcoinbox available for QUICK DISMOUNTING if service is needed Mounting holes as shown below. Ensure that the panel is secure.
  • Timer Set-Up Procedure
    SmartCoinBox has two types of timers for Models CD and CW as follows: 3 Button Timer (2012 to 2015) Set-up Procedures: To make sure that the DEFAULT values are intact and did not make any adjustments by mistake, do the following steps: Press S3 and HOLD Display must be 00:01 If not use S1 or S2 to bring it back to 00:01 Wait for few seconds until the display goes back to 00:00 To adjust to desired "minutes", Press and HOLD S1 to desired minutes If you exceed your desired "minutes", press S2 to adjust back Wait for few seconds until the display goes back to 00:00 4 Button Timer (2015 to present) Set-up Procedures: Press S3 to clear Press S4 two times (not once) Press S1 or S2 to adjust to desired minutes Wait for few seconds for the display to go back to 00:00 Following the procedures above carefully will make minutes adjustment easy and hassle free. Important: There are default values embedded on the timers memory function that must not be adjusted. If you accidentally adjusted them and cannot get it working again, please contact us for assistance. TIMER SET-UP OPTIONS: We currently have 2 options on how you want your tenants pay the usage of your laundry equipment: OPTION 1 we called "BUY YOUR TIME" set-up or "BYT" BUY YOUR TIME or BYT is the most popular set-up in all SmartCoinBoxes. Every time the tenants insert a coin the time accumulates. BYT is the default set-up on all our SmartCoinBoxes sold since 2012 ... wait!....before you start...a 5 seconds of inactivity on the buttons...will bring back the display to 00:00..you then need start on step 1 again.... 1. Press S3 to clear. 2. Press S4 and display must be "01" (01 means ONE coin) if not use S1 or S2 to bring it back to "01" 3. Press S4 again. This is where you enter your desired minutes PER coin...say for example 20 minutes. So ONE coin inserted gives you 20 minutes...add another coin adds another 20 minutes and so on. TENANT must put enough coin to complete the cycle selected. A chart or table with corresponding cycles and run-time helps in determining how many minutes per coin you want to charge your tenants. 4. Wait for few seconds and wait for display 00:00 5. Done! Test your setting. OPTION 2 we called "PAY ME FIRST" set-up or "PMF" PAY ME FIRST or PMF is less popular but works better with other landlords. This set-up is also popular on LAUNDROMATS that we cater and build. The concept is requiring your tenant to insert predetermined amount of coin before the timer starts. For example, Landlord A wants 3 coins inserted first before the timer starts. Assuming Landlord A set the timer already for 40 minutes per coin. ..wait.. before you start...a 5 seconds of inactivity on the buttons...will bring back the display to 00:00..you then need to start on step 1 again.. 1. Press S3 to clear 2. Press S4 and set display "03" ( 3 means three coins). If the display is not 03, use S1 or S2 to bring it back to 03. 3. Press S4 again and here you will enter your minutes per 3 coin cycle. Using S1 or S2 bring the display to 40 (meaning 40 minutes). You can select any minutes you want to give your tenants for 3 coins. 4. Wait for the display to go back to 00:00. 5. Done! Test your setting... IMPORTANT: Your tenant MUST add 3 coins again to ADD 40 minutes... ------------------------------------------------------------- YOU WANT HOURS:MINUTES instead of MINUTES:SECONDS? Our timer default is 00:00 or MINUTES:SECONDS with maximum display time of 99:99. If you think this is not enough you can shift to HOURS:MINUTES mode by doing as follows: 1. Press hold at the same time S1 and S2 to enter engineering mode (Display 01:01 - Do not touch) 2. Press S4 (Display is 02:03 change this to 02:04 by using S1 or S2 3. Press S3 to save and exit. You can now set the time desired in HOURS:MINUTES same method when you are setting in minutes:seconds. Take note that 1 minute = 60 seconds and you will not see any changes on the LED's until after 1 miniute ===========================================================
