SmartCoinBox is designed to cut off electrical power to the appliance once the pre-set timer drops to ZERO.

Commercial washers and dryers cost $400 to $500 more than a typical household washer and dryer. Residential washers and dryers are just as rugged, they operate exactly the same way. The only difference is that commercial washers and dryers have coin devices WIRED DIRECTLY to the machine. When commercial machines break down, the repairs are not cheap. You may have to pay for a service call (around $80 minimum) plus parts and it can be out of commission for weeks.

The SmartCoinBox device is designed to control the electrical power flow to the washer/dryer through an electrical plug-in. SmartCoinBox mounts on the wall just above the appliance and the appliance would plug directly into the device.

SmartCoinBox accepts QUARTER (USA) and MQTEK supplied TOKENS (included/installed) and will run for preset time per coin.
 
There is a countdown display that accumulates every time a coin is inserted. Say $1.00 (Canada) or $ 0.25 (USA) for 30 minutes or $1.00 (Canada) or $ 0.25 (USA) per 45 minutes. The machine will stop after the accumulated time REGARDLESS of the machine's cycle status. The intended applications of this controller are student housings, rooming houses and basement apartments, especially if laundry is included in the rent being collected.
